On the 8th of January 2024, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu officially unveiled the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results at Moi Girls High School – Eldoret.
How to Access 2023 KCSE Results
To access the 2023 KCSE results, candidates can visit the official portal at https://results.knec.ac.ke It’s important to note that, unlike the previous year, candidates will not have the option to access their results through the SMS code.
Analysis of the 2023 KCSE results reveals the following key points
A total of 1,216 candidates achieved grade A. National Schools played a significant role in this success, contributing the highest number of A grades with 889 candidates. Extra county schools followed with 172 A grades, private schools with 143 A grades, county schools with 5 A grades, and sub-county schools with 7 A grades.
More than 201,133 candidates attained grades of C+ and above, which is the minimum requirement for University entry.
A substantial number of 526,222 candidates secured grades of D+ and above.
However, there were 48,174 candidates who scored Grade E, indicating a segment facing challenges in their academic performance.
Cheating
The integrity of the examination process was a point of concern, as approximately 4,113 candidates did not receive their results due to suspected cheating. Additionally, the results of 4 candidates were canceled due to impersonation.
