2023 KCPE Results to be Released Soon
In an announcement that has sparked excitement among those in the education community, there is anticipation surrounding the release of the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examination results. Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has confirmed that the marking process is complete, indicating that the candidate’s academic achievements are ready to be unveiled anytime President William Ruto returns to the country from a trip to Germany and France. The president is expected to receive and review the results from the Education Cabinet Secretary, after which the results will be made public.
In addition, the Form 1 placement will be done before Christmas to allow the students to report to Secondary school at least by the third week of January. Early release of KCPE results will give parents time to look for necessary resources for their children to join Form 1.
The 2023 cohort was the last to sit the KCPE exams as the ministry works on phasing out the 8-4-4 curriculum.
The 8-4-4 system has existed since 1985, i.e., 38 years ago. The system is being phased out. The total number of candidates that sat this year’s exam is 1,415,315.
According to Machogu, there were no cases of cheating in this year’s KCPE exam; only six cases were reported.
2023 KCSE is ending this week, and 903,260 candidates sat for the exam. Marking of 2023 KCSE will start after the end of the exam exercise.
