  1. (a) Why the Bible is referred to as the word of God.

– Human authors were inspired by God

– It contains words spoken directly by God, such as let there be………..

– God Himself took part in the writing of the Bible e.g ten commandments.

– The bible reveals the nature of God i.e His divine nature.

– It contains the will of God ie what he expects of us.

– It contains predictions and prophecies some of which have come to pass.

– It is used for moral guidance /rebuking and correcting what is wrong.

– It contains the history of salvation through Jesus Christ.

 

(b) God`s plan of salvation for human beings in the O.T.

– God looked for Adam and Eve after they sinned.

– God provided them with clothes after they realized that they were naked

– His call to Abraham was aimed at saving nations.

– God sent his prophets to guide and correct his people.

– The prophecies of Isaiah about the messiah who would come to save the world were part of God`s plan of salvation.
